I guess Russians, Nazi's and Communists are open season when it comes to typecasting enemies of america but anyone else...well they came from that distinct and very specific area...you know...south of the equator! lmfao.
Whoever mentioned Michael Bay made a great comparison. Ignore common sense or a remotely believable plot, just infuse everything with a deep sense of patriotism, machoism and heroism, pile on mountains of special effects and you've got a hit.
