Really? That's actually far lower than I expected, I was thinking the vast majority of kids were growing up exclusively on touch/gyro only games.

I think 7 hours is a lot to spend only on gaming... the kids probably use tablet and smartphones more hours with 7 on gaming..
My parents would have kicked me out of the house to play outside if I played that many hours of videogames when I was that age..

Really I meant in relation, the fact they're playing traditional physical control games more than they are touch and gyro only games. I just kind of assumed they weren't playing tradition physical control games anymore.

7 hours a week of touch games though, yeah... What the hell are they even playing that has that kind of lasting appeal on iOS/Android? I can only think of Minecraft, and that certainly can't account for all of them.

Well there's hundreds of games and kids aren't as picky as people think.

When I was a kid I played tons of really terrible NES games, lol, kids just like any type of video game.

20 minute bus ride to school, 20 minute bus ride back, recess, plus maybe 20 minutes more of play at home ... there you go, that's about an hour a day.
