I am unsure, because people really seem to be rejecting the Vita in an unexplicable way. Reviewers are harsh on Vita games, judging them against home consoles rather than 3DS games. Theres definitly alot of value on getting a Vita now if Sony can make sure to bring all those games that are stuck in Japan over.

I think the Vita will have a long life cycle in the market because its so ahead of its time. The 3DS will thrive for a couple of years longer but i wonder what Nintendo will do with it after. I cant believe they are in a hurry to release another portable after the troubled 3DS launch.

 

I also think Pachter talks out of his ass. He has sound logic most of the time, but sometimes he comes out with completely retarded conclusions. He gets impatient and feels the need to draw out conclusions now. Wii U is dead already, Vita is dead already, 3DS is dead already. He can act like an impatient little kid at times. Then, the products reach the level of market acceptance and he gets to eat shoe.

Nintendo's hardware is generally on a 5 year cycle.  I think the Wii was the exception at 6.  3DS is 3 now no?  Or going to be.  So Nintendo has a successor in the works already.
