Wii U Basic at 300$ was just a terrible value, likely why many avoided buying the console. Now that people realize that with 300$ they're getting all of the Deluxe/Premium stuff, plus a free game, it would sound like a much better value than 300$ with 8GB memory, no accessories, and no free game. Will people notice this difference? Well, those who will buy consoles this holiday season (who buy stuff for family, friends, kids, etc) they'll want the best value for what they can find. I think 300$ for what Nintendo is selling is good enough. Enough of this "omg still too expensive" nonsense, you're not just getting a 180$-200$ console (like it or not, the insides are worth this much, it's not cheap tech), you're also getting a controller with a screen, a free game, and several accessories.

As for it selling more due to the price drop, maybe a few extra thousands per week, but that'll be about it. It just needs games to sell more.
