It wouldn't change very much. The problem at it's core is that only console-like games really use dual analog sticks, games like shooters or big action games. Most of these games suffer from the same problem the Vita suffers from, they are games that are far better on consoles and offered deteriorated experiences on handhelds with little advantages. There is no reason to play Resident Evil: Revelations or Metal Gear Solid 3 on the 3DS when the experience is much more comfortable and cinematic on a television.

The exception here however is Monster Hunter, which is a game that is much easier to play with friends on a handheld device and has gameplay in a bite sized structure suited for handhelds. So as of right now, only Monster Hunter would really benefit from a dual analog stick 3DS.
