If you love Nintendo, then it's inevitable that kids around your place will be glued to the TV, because they can't stop playing the games. I love Atari. Doesn't mean I have played Atari today. It isn't a contradiction. You can have past fondness, or love for something, and not force it on your kids. Interest in a company is not passed on genetically either. What I see, he is saying his daughter never had an interest in Nintendo to begin with, which can be true.
Videogame companies are NOT religions, despite the amount of fanboyism out there that makes it so, and shows religous devotion.
