Yeah, in Portugal the Xbox brand was pratically irrelevant. And even if it`s biggest market in Europe is the UK, they really need to push it harder.
The PS brand seems to be as strong as ever in Europe and seems like the PS4 is set to start really strong in the US. MS needs to do more to balance things out.

Do you think it's because people are not that well informed? Or MS failed marketing over there?

There were basically no ads since it came out. I saw probably one or two in all these years.
About the marketing, i really haven`t seen anything besides temporary cuts on price or several games added to the console during Christmas. Honestly, i have no idea how MS works around here.

But besides that inertia, there really wasn`t a good reason for Xbox to have such low marketshare - which was really low, last time i saw news about it.
Portugal has always been a strong PS bastion. Even Wii didn`t take off until 2009 - from when it took over as best selling console.
My guess is people just don`t want it. It`s like the days of GC and Xbox: they were good consoles, but people just wanted PS2.
