Yeah I tried this exact method and it didn't go past 85hz on my TV. Also I think it fried something in my HDMI board as the TV I tried it on started behaving strange. I have to switch HDMI sources 2-3 times for it to recognize there is something plugged in.

We will see how these HDMI 2.0 TVs behave, but that Seiki 4K monitor that natively accepts 120hz 1080p may be a diamond in the rough.
