Can you name me a street fighter game that has never received an update? Do you know why they're updated?
SF1, only change was going from force feedback inputs to actual buttons.
SFII had so many remakes, I can't name them all.
SFIII, SFII: 2ND Impact, SFIII:Third Strike, SFIII:3S: Online Edition
Then, there's SFIV with it's obvious amount of upgrades.
All of todays fighters are upgraded. There's lots of variables and things that can happen in those games and it's impossible to fix everything before you release it. It's always been this way. Release a fighting game, and release an upgrade later. If you don't release an upgrade, whatever exploits found in the game will remain forever.
Tekken: Bloodline Rebellion, Tekken: Dark Resurrection, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend, Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom, and many others.
But, outside of that, I do agree with you. I was thinking just yesterday, what would happen if Comcept became bigger than capcom and absorbed them or something. Most of the comcept guys are people that worked at capcom when capcom was still good, lol. If those same people get the rights to the IPs they originally created, it would be so awesome.
