Nintendo is Dad. The 3rd Party are The Kids.
Dad pays the bills. He doesn't HAVE to consult The Kids on what to do with the house.
The 3rd parties have been spoiled by Sony & Microsoft over the years.
It's because Sony & Microsoft are not really gamemakers & depend on 3rd party developers to supply content for their systems.

But that's not the way it used to be done.
The 1st Party matters most because they take the risk in developing the platform as well as the games that will play on it.
That's how it used to be.
That's how it will be again once Nintendo finally UNIFIES this industry & ends this standoff that has been going on for the past 20 years.

You don't get the level of innovation that Nintendo produces by asking the 3rd parties if it's OK to do something.
We would probably never have the Control Pad (D-Pad) if Nintendo asked contemporary developers how the control should be.
They would probably say "like the Atari Joystick!"

It's time for the 3rd parties to learn their place.
This is gonna be the last generation we see this kind of foolishness from them.

P.S.: Remember, your 3rd parties promoted that BS you saw Microsoft trot out here at E3 2013 with the XBox One.
They need to be reined in.
