I'll be honest, I don't know much about why it went exclusive. Did Nintendo buy the IP rights or something, or did they buy the entire studio? Either way, I just remember RE4 being a promised GC exclusive and then ending up on PS2/PC.
I think it's sad the dev sold their soul to Nintendo. The fans of the original game are PS3/360 owners, most probably don't even own a Wii U or plan to in the near future. Makes absolutely no sense.
