1) Post history doesnt (or at least, shouldnt) be a deciding factor on the cause of bans, unless deciding between temp or permanent.

Since you like to use real world analogies, that's like saying repeated offenses shouldn't be a deciding factor on the penalties of criminals. We should keep letting people with DUIs get behind a wheel and predatorial sex offenders near schoools. You had an argument up until this post, then you completely lost me.

note: "unless deciding between temp or permanent" - real world equiv - dui driver banned from driving for 3 years, gets caught again - license revoked, 10 year ban.

A more accurate analogy would be "should we breathalize someone who once got caught DUI, or treat them differently on the road than we did before". some would say yes, haul his ass in and test whenever you can, others would say, people make mistakes, and shouldnt be judged without further cause to do so.

I went and looked up the guys post history just now, and other than him being warned for, admittedly, stupidly saying "x game isnt next gen, sorry nintendo fanboys", none of the other posts were bad, and i, much like the person who moderated him, felt that was more of a warn offence than a ban - with that in mind, if he were to say the same again then fair enough he deserves the day ban, but even if certain people find his post to be a bash, and even if the bash was intended, its simply an opinion based on his view of the game.

But seriously, im done with the topic, his ban expired and i could sit here and argue the point till im blue in the face and it would not effect a thing.
