Do Japanese watch Americanized Cartoons? Like on Adult Swim we get some Anime. Bleach and some other stuff. Is that the same way in Japan? Or is our stuff ignored besides Pixar and Disney. |
Well, I know they do get a few of them at least. For example, I know they did get SpongeBob SquarePants, which was dubbed in Japanese:

And PowerPuff Girls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTk9ouhxbl8
(which later got an anime adaptation, as Powerpuff Girls Z: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powerpuff_girls_z )
And The Simpsons: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhr-f5LTJPM (Movie trailer), http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrZjOTSmClY (TV ad)
In addition, I know that Tom and Jerry was popular enough to get voted among the best 100 animated series of all time in 2005 (at number 58), although it was the only non-japanese animation there:

I believe they do get a good amount, just that they're generally not as popular as their own animation.
