Broadwell isn't the successor to the IB-Es, but to the regular Haswell chips. That'd be a donwgrade from my 3907X

I thought it was supposed to be the Ivory Brige to the Haswel's Sandy Bridge.  I.e. the die shrink (with a few bits of tweaking.)

But you could skip them all and go to Skylake!  Well, if you want to wait that long.
