This. It comes off as being very pretentious and fake, and absolutely ruins comedy. For example, when Dave Chapelle said a few years back "Homosexuals...that ain't right", the entire theater bursted out laughing. Needless to say, the reaction today would be vastly different. I don't think you have to call "policemen" officers, "businessmen" entrepreneurs, "black people" African Americans, and "mankind" humankind in order to be understanding of others. Those token names don't add anything to society other than the pretentiousness that a person brings upon others by correcting those that use some "loose" terms.
