3D was a failure to begin with. with the 2DS the practically admit that. also the show one more time that the prefere to play it safe with countless cheap interations of already existing hardware and games instead of trying to create something new software wise. nintendos motto pretty much is: "get them as young as posssible because the younger they are the easier to entertain they are."

This is probably the worst post I have ever read and I actually feel like I've de-volved somewhat just reading it.

Please read my post at the top of this thread. Also, considering Nintendo titles are the best selling of all time (usually all from one console) and Wii had by far the broadest userbase of any console, excluding the DS, in terms of age... your kiddie summation is full of crap.

sure they wii was a "financial" success and its userbase was broad but it was also full of people who cared about anything but games. for example, there were a lot people who bought this thing for the idiotic reason to get into shape or lose weight while having some fun at the same time. but those people are gone now (see wii U sales) because they finally realized (duh) that wii fit and wii sports were not the "magical pound vanishing" tools they might have expected. i'd say, with every console nintendo made, starting with the N64, they lost more and more people who really cared about gaming and all that's left now are die hard nintendo fans kids mainly. or in short: core gaming is everywhere except nintendo. maybe japan is different but i bet in the rest of the world it's excatly like that.
