well apparently it does to the other Sony and MS dudes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkUBfD5SCqU

you know you're doing things right when the entire MS and Sony communities on the internet switch their gears to "Maximum Butthurt" mode.

No.  Bayonetta was not a hit and only reached its current sales at bargain bin prices.  It really doesn't have many fans.

watch the video.

A dozen people or so.  Clearly the same as all the owners of 150m+ consoles.

From what I remember, I recall reading threads here where I saw more people talk about the complaining than I saw of actual complaining.  In my opinion, I think people just wanted to sensationalize the extreme responses of a few to make it seem bigger than it really was.  I'm a Bayonetta fan, and while I was a bit surprised that the sequel was an exclusive, I was just happy to see it getting made.

On topic, IF (big if) Platinum becoming more of an exclusive developer for Nintendo helped to increase their games exposure, than I think it would be great.  While I didn't think Wonderful 101 would set the world on fire, I'm disappointed that the Wii U user base didn't support it as much as I thought it would, as it really looked like a game that the fanbase could have enjoyed, and thus, I'm not certain such a partnership would be in either companies' best interests.
