Back on subject.... I don't see how a 100 bucks makes that big of difference.... I have spent more than that on drinks over a weekend back in my college years.... and people have no problem paying 600 on a phone they'll have no use for compared to a cheaper one.... and that will last only 2-3 years....
To me an xb1 will cost me 57 bucks over 7 years.... I don't have many tech device that match that... yeah the ps4 is cheaper... but I don't see a 100 bucks being a big deal for anybody handling their finance properly...
