I know what you guys are getting at, that Nintendo's console is (as usual) a haven for local multiplayer. But the question was about split-screen, specifically because gamers never had a problem crowding around tiny, square, 30-inch TVs split into 4 segments for splitscreen, and now that TVs are widescreen and two to three times that size, developers are dropping splitscreen entirely in favor of online multiplayer only.

Just stick with Mario Kart. It's the definition of splitscreen gaming.
