The way it worked with the 3DS is that if we sold it at 170 preprice drop, we took a loss on it. If we sold it post price drop, Nintendo kicked the difference back to us. As for why they announced the price drop early, I don't know. With the 3DS, we actually did get people buying it between the announcement and the price drop so they could get the ambassador games. Maybe they'll do an ambassador thing, or maybe they just find it better to build the hype to one point. Maybe they feel like they want people to wait until the price cut to buy it, that way when they do buy it they'll have games like Zelda and Wonderful 101 to capitalize on the hype. I dunno but I would assume there is a reason.
