I do not like the idea of an ignore user option, although it might be useful for the wall and messages, but banning is good enough IMO.... Just because some deserves to be ignored, doesn't mean they will not improve. If there was such a feature for regular items, it should automatically unignore after 24 hours or something.
What I wouldn't mind is an ignore thread option... I am not interested in some of the topics that stay on the front page and would love to see more interesting oners stay therte for me.
