It has fallen far behind in every region now. Contrary to this threads premise, America was the last place where the 3DS was still ahead of the DS.
As for the thread, people have already gone over most points. One week is pretty meaningless, and it was a holiday in Japan. For overall shipments the Americas are ahead of the rest of the world minus Japan. Japan is about 15% ahead of the Americas. Japan has also gotten better software support than the west.
