My complaint about the black ones, is the way the light comes in my windows from behind, the black ones just look like an all black mess.  In my reciever, you can't see what any of the buttons do!  I have memorized a the few key locations I use, and get my phone's flashlight out if I mess up. It's just really hard to see in my set up.

Plus, black controllers just dissapear when you set them down.

The white is nice (although, pretty sure this employee things is a confirmed hoax.)  but I would like another silver, like my Halo:Reach console or something like that.

Was really disspointed at first that the Reach controllers have what looks like painted detailing on top, but it has held up just fine.  Really happy with them.

I want an X1, but temped to see if I should wait for a Halo 5 LE console, assuming they will make one.
