Trust me, Garcian, if I understood why THIS movie got popular instead of the other heaps of conspiracies, I'd let you know. Conspiracies like this have been around for soo long, someone threw together a bunch of them along with the usual 9/11 was the government conspiracy, and the herds just eat it up.
