And yet here we are, with almost everybody having an HDTV.

 

Anyway, answering the OP, considering how bad they are right now (consoles), I'd be sad if there wasn't a big leap.

still, they won't be standard any time soon. and with consoles barely rendering games at native 1080p, imagine what will take to render 4x that resolution.
