If emotiv and oculus rift combine their powers, then we would truly have something unique, promising, and something you can truly call a 'Gaming Revolution'.
However, if these two technologies remain separate, then neither will picked up or used by any of the large 3 gaming companies, it will be relegated to an expensive PC novelty before fading away. It's the same thing that happened with Novint Falcon Mouse.
Though I do see emotiv and oculus rift perhaps standing a better chance in the medical sector. The emotiv could be used to track the progress of those recovering from strokes, or perhaps to capture the frequency and Strength of epilepsy or some such brain related illnesses, while the oculus rift could be used to better treat people with phobias though VR, it's something that's already in practice but limited because the VR and 3D graphics were primitive but the oculus rift solves both, mainly because of the HD displays and the fact that the SDK can easily fit with modern graphics middleware.
In anycase, we'll see how this technology develops and where if any if any where these two technologies end up, the future is interesting to say the least.
