Easy - take my severance and final check and look for another job. I'd be very selective, and figure out if I needed to relocate or not.
I would also call the mortgage company and tell them I am unemployed and looking for work. Nonessential spending would be halted, but I'd save money on gas because I wouldn't have to go to work - big +.
