I do apologize for giving any false conceptions SnakeEyez but it was like I was saying a post earlier, this can lead to a new Metroid game.

It's a simple process:

1. We fund this.

2. It gets made.

3. It rocks and becomes an internet sensation.

4. Nintendo sees how much we still care about Metroid.

5. They make a new Metroid game.

See? Simple. But none of that happens if we don't help fund this.

4. Nintendo summons Reggie their legal team to "take names".

5. They make a new Metroid game, when they feel like it.

EDIT: Waaait, are you really implying that step 5 won't happen unless some mugs fund a startup project? My step 5 is what will happen, regardless.
