Witcher 2 decimated DA 2. Its amazing that such a small studio can destroy a Bioware studio RPG with financial backing from EA.

As someone who bought but never finished both Witcher 1 and 2 and thought they had some of the worst combat of the generation, I would remind you that your opinion is just an opinion.  If you're not interested in Dragon Age then maybe you should simply play something else and not worry about it?  Seriously, they aren't even the same type of game.

Both are WRPG's using fantasy stylings. I never play action games on PC. DA was made to thrive on PC (just saying) and the Witcher 2 was a huge gameplay leap from the Witcher 1. The parry system was challenging and intuitive, counter hits, were based on skill not just chance, the elemental powers were as strong as you needed them to be. The Witcher 2 was one of the last major exclusives I played on the 360 before I sold it and it was amazing. I can see why people were raving about it. Unlike Mass Effect it actually had multiple endings (I believe about sixteen different endings) and your decisions actually had an effect on the way things played out.
