The didn't. They made an opinion about it. That's the difference.

Then they didn't fit the criteria of what I was asking. I am only talking about people who played the games before they spoke about them and gave you a spoiler-free review.

Demon Souls, Dark Souls, Batman Arkham Franchise, Assassins Creed all spread via word of mouth.

 

But isn't that what we're arguing here?

Reviews are reviews. Word of mouth is a review, just depends on whether you trust the person or site.
