I think it was a vast improvement too, heck I think it was a good game period. What I mean by 'tacked on' is that it deserved to be it's own game and not some sort forced sequel to XIII's story. I could be wrong, maybe square planned it all along, but the plot felt very artificially tacked on to XIII's me. Like an afterthought. I don't know, still a definite improvement over XIII though.
