Over the last few years i have witnessed 2 or 3 recent plasmas suffer from burn in. Image retention is still a problem with plasmas, more so than LEd or LCD.

Yep.  I have a friend that plays so much NCAA Football that the ticker bar that is always at the bottom of the screen is burned in.  This is a plasma that is only about 1 year old.
