No, just tired of this. I hate this whole, massive butt-hurt thing with Nintendo fanboys if you say the slightest thing negative about Mario, then you have to deal those rushing to attack, like you with this meaningless post which adds nothing at all to the discussion. I know I'm not going to win against a whole hord of you because it will never end. So you want to come in at the tail end to keep the fight going? And you think that's mature? Hah. |
Understand this, I am not a Nintendo fanboy. I just note that Super Mario Bros. came along at the right time, and helped to save Nintendo, and give a reason for the NES to be able to make it. ROB didn't do it, and thus was discontinued. It is important to understand what is a lynchpin product, where if it wasn't there, things would of turned out very different. it can be argued also, that with the Gameboy, Pokemon is the same type of product Mario was. Without Pokemon, the Gameboy, and all future Nintendo handhelds would not of existed.
One can argue also for Pong to being relevant. Without it, very possibly we never have a videogame indusrty. And that is a problem of asking, "If Nintendo didn't have Mario, would you be a Nintendo fan?" One can't separate Nintendo from Mario at all, because without Mario, we very likely wouldn't even have a videogame industry as we have it today.
