Is multiplayer crippling Mario 3D World's level design?

The only way that I think this would effect the "proper" 3D Mario games is that if this sells a lot more than them, that way we will see more releases of these types of Mario games.

I honestly dont think it will affect them. NSMB success didnt stop Galaxy from releasing and NSMBWii didnt affect Galaxy 2. 

I think 2D Mario is going to take a bit of a break and 3D Land series will take its place for the next few years.
