It's not surprising though, a lot of Skyrim and pretty sure The Elder Scrolls games in general take some from Nordic mythology.  Like the Draugr for instance, it's an actual word(though with multiple spellings , meaning "one who walks after death" or "ghost".

Well, in Norway we have something we call a "do-draugen," which I suppose translates to: the toilet draugr. Basicly a monster that comes up from the toilet when you're sitting on it :D
