While I am an avid Playstation supporter, this is not intended to be a flamebait. It's just a curious question that I have for Xbox fans and avid supporters of the XBone.
So, throughout last gen, Sony was consistently refferred to as the copycat of the gen. When it came to entertainment apps like Netflix, the PSN Trophy system, the creation of PS Move, and games like PS Allstars & LBP Karting, many gamers, particularly Xbox and Wii supporters, claimed Sony to have copied these features and games from their competition. To be fair, these alligations were pretty accurate, though they didn't justify the bad wrap that the PS3 has recieved overall by these fans. These choices were just a few additions to a system that turned out to be fantastic overall. I don't know about you, but I firmly believed that PS3 has done the best this gen in terms of exclusives. The likes of Uncharted, The Last of Us, Killzone, Little Big Planet, God of War, and Gran Turismo (just to name a few), have created console defining experiences this past gen while also proving just how great Sony's first party is.
As we all know, Microsoft has made some huge policy changes with the Xbox One as of late. The console has recieved the new nickname of Xbox One-Eighty, due to Microsoft's seemingly complete 180 degree reversal on policies that they originally claimed to be "irreversisble". These changes have come to be due to an almost obvious factor: The huge ammount of support Sony has been recieving with their Playstation 4, due to the fact they had these new policies from the getgo (no DRM, no mandatory peripherals, etc.).
So I ask this: Seeing as Microsoft has been changing a lot of their policies, in an attempt to replicate the PS4 and it's policies, to gain more support, is it safe to say that Microsoft has already done alot of copying so far in the new gen?
I'm not trying to say that the XBone is suddenly doomed, as even the PS3 eventually beame a successful console, despite a very poor launch. I'm saying that the same people, who declared Sony a copycat, should at least admit that Microsoft is no more original.
