I could never handle the Backlash very well. 
Which is unfortunate, since it's supposed to be the best vehicle in the game once you get the hang of it. I got around that limitation just fine until the bonus stage where you can only use the backlash to demolish all the buildings in 40 seconds. Many a tear of rage was birthed that week...
