Recently, developers have done on record, stating that next gen AAA games won't cost much more than current gen AAA games. As tech improves, costs stay relative. We WILL get to human like AI and photo realism. Maybe not this gen, maybe not next, but it'll happen. Until then, progress won't stop.

and when the time comes it will still be irrelevant for gaming. a tecnological acomplishment? sure. but unrelated to gaming.

neither are the goal, graphics, physics and AI for gaming already crossed the point of good enough. graphics are stagnant already and the only reason why AI is stupid is because of devs laziness/focus on graphics instead of important things. seriously, check the AI for npc's from skyrim and you'll see it's the same shit from ps2 era and certainly not a hardware problem.

anyway, it's funny reading those comments that ask for photorealism and human AI when gaming is suposed to be about things not possible on real world. and the best games ever came mostly on limited 10-20 years old hardware. what makes a game is game design and hardware can only do so much to make it better, especially now that things got stagnant.
