Most of the games in my backlog are games I don't own. I borrowed the discs (or entire consoles) and couldn't finish before I had to return them. I don't consider games I own but haven't started as being in my backlog. And if any of my two younger brothers plays such a game and I never play it, the money isn't wasted. With that said, I am about to start Uncharted 2 (beaten the first one and will borrow the 3rd from a friend when I beat the 2nd, which I own), after which I will start my God of War saga and finish all 5 games (played 1 and 3, never finished any).
I am currently playing Skyward Sword which I'll definitely finish this weekend, then I'll finish up No More Heroes 2 and Metroid Other M, both of which I have already started. I'd love to finish Mario Galaxy 2 but I've lost the game. And don't let me even start listing my 3DS and iPhone backlog....
