I think that the general thought that a portion of this list is not available this Christmas is irrelevant. It probably would have been better to say that "if you are buying a console either way during the Christmas season, here are the reasons to buy XOne:" Sure, they aren't available at launch, but if you were buying a system this Christmas anyway, he is trying to convince you to get the XOne because of its current and future capabilities. Why bother to complain about it either way. Neither system is launched, so all of the proposed features and capabilities are marketing hype until we see them in person.
