That doesn't mean they won't buy their products though. Japanese cars are among the top sold in China. Japan has 3 in the top 20 sedans. 3 in the top 10 SUVs (including number 2, by less than 1% margin). Again, the point here is about buying products. People will demonstrate all they want, but the world market is completely different. You don't buy a product you don't want rather than buy from a country you don't like. The alternative is to just not buy the product.

Considering that a lot of Sony's own production happens in China, Chinese citizens are likely very aware that boycotting Japanese products only hurts themselves. Japan is a MAJOR trading partner with China.
