Did you play on easy or hard for your high chaos playthrough?

And does difficulty make enemies more aware - thus making the stealth playthrough harder?

I played high choas on easy wanted to just run and gun my way through the game easily. Basically the issue was not being able to buy any abilities it was like playing Bioshock and not using plasmids. Started  my stealth run on normal and haven't really noticed any difference in the enemy AI's awareness but only did one level so far.
