Well when PS2 launched it was selling out everywhere, Sony personally shipped more consoles over to help with the demand, it sold like crazy its first years.  I doubt the PS4 will be able to replicate that, don't get me wrong it will sell out at launch, but the install base 2 years in won't be as big as the PS2's, even if you add the PS4+X1.  But that's just what I think.

Even the PS3+360 combined sales in the first 2 years were better than the PS2's first 2 year's sales IIRC, so I can't imagine how PS4+X1 will have issues exceeding the install base.
