This is interesting, what is a "core" gamer in your subjective opinion? A core gamer is basically a hobbyist or avid gamer. Many people on this website fit the bill. I mean...unless people talk more than they game and I am sure a lot of us have jobs.

To me a core-gamer is especially interested in just the games and not on which platform the games are released, not to mention that he of course owns all major consoles to not miss the good games. Also I think a core-gamer is an open-minded person who also wants to try new things in gaming, to enrich his gaming-experience and who is not talking sh** on things before he experiences it himself.

So...who wasn't focusing on the games? Anyone can talk about their opinions on a company, but who was ever talking badly about games?

So you never ever complained about MS' exclusives? Saying that in the last years they didn't release anything good? Really Stage, you don't fit in my definition. Your cherry-picking of one point in my def says a lot. But don't be upset. I think you consider yourself still a core-gamer, that's what counts. To me you are not and we will never agree in this point until either I change my definition (which won't happen) or you change your mind - so agreement is up to you.

I'm not angry, far from it. I'm the type of person who would rather find out why one feels the way they do than let them harp on negative feelings towards others (including myself). Ultimately its not my hope for anyone to change but rather to understand and then we go our seperate ways. The world is ignorant without understanding. I would have all the consoles if I wasnt paying for college right now, but thats not a choice. Regardless, I wasn't cherry picking either, but focusing on the main point of what it is you feel a core gamer is. I feel you cannot gauge a core gamer by whether they've invest in all available platforms, but rather the amount of time they apply to gaming and the challenges therein. I've already played my friends Wii and I have gone through four Xbox 360's (three of which died on me: One Falcon and two Jasper's). Based on exclusives the only one truly left standing is the PS3 for this gen. If I was going to buy a handheld, I wouldn't go for the Vita, i'd just borrow it because it doesn't have enough games to sustain or warrant ownership in my eyes. I would go for a DS based on games even though I think the VIta has superior tech. Tech means nothing...which is why I dispose of consoles that run out of games. Until I graduate and can free up my payments, I will continue to go for the console with the largest amount of exclusives and multiplats and it doesnt matter which brand its in.

I don't need to be anyones idea of a hardcore gamer, I just am. I think we can agree to disagree.
