he said "releasing the same game game over and over". those are different versions of the same game being released at the same time, while making it clear people just need one of them. so what he said certainly doesn't refer to that.

Yellow wasn't released at the same time, it was the same game being release much later.  It's the same thing with every gen, Platinum, Emerald, etc.  So he might mean that.  

it's in the "3rd game " category. and again no one really needs to buy the 3rd iteration of the gen.
