What's the point of this? All of the launch consoles are going to sell out for the first 60-90 days regardless. So, doing a survey about what ratio will buy at launch is just stupid. It is a survey of the group on the site, so obviously the PS users outnumber the Xbox users 4 to 1.

Actually, no. In the survey it's more like 6:1 WW. However, the 4:1 ratio comes from a retailer in NL. Another one saw 3:1.

Didthey release how many consoles willl be available at launch for each console?  NO.  What if Sony has 4 times as many consoles available for preorder?  Maybe they do or maybe they don't.  Pre-Orders mean bunk.  If it's like here in the states, there isn't a lot(actually zero) of XBone signage at my local Gamestops.  So, which way are presells going to look here.  I haven't been to Europe lately to check out these retailers, but who knows what they are pushing andwhat incentives their companies are receiving from either side.  THere are a lot of factors that go into early pre-orders...  I would expect a lot more pre-orders for the cheaper system.  Of course it didn't help that M$ had the worst launch ever...

Huh? They can take pre-orders pretty much forever, or until it is sold out. I think I can say with confidence that Xbox One is NOT sold out in those retailers. It's also certainly not sold out over here in another European country.

There are plenty of reasons to be found, but the outcome is the same.

Can only tell you from my time managing Best Buy stores here in the states, that we had preorder limits.  We knew how many units to preorder for launch day(we usually got more units than we pre-ordered of course).  When we hit that, we told anyone else that wanted to preorder that their unit wasn't guaranteed on any date.  As soon as "not guaranteed" came out of our mouth, the person walked away.  I don't disagree that there is an obviously higher level of interest to get the PS4 today and probably all the way to launch.  But, once both consoles sell out right away, interests will change for a lot of the non-preorder crowd to What's in stock now.  So, whoever fills the channel better will see the continued sales.
