*Warning, long read ahead* Well Square managed to pull out FF 13-2 2 years after 13 and FF lightening returns 2 years after 13-2. My whole arguement is based on that the game were made by the same team so if they are not then disregard it. So by now I think Square Enix has the main story components of KH3 basically set in stone, I mean they have to with all those spin offs, so they won't be wasting time on that. I don't think they will put AAA graphics in the game because its been so long since the last console KH game and SE isn't sure it can still pull the big numbers, especially given the lack luster sales of the handheld games, so I don't think the graphics portion will take as long as the FF games I mentioned which only took 2 years to make. They also have said they have some major gameplay features decided. Tetsuya said if you have played DDD then the combat in KH3 will be familiar, which obviously I think he is refering to Flow Motion. They basically already know how to do Flow Motion so I think all they have to do is fine tune it from DDD. Also Sony said it only takes 3 months to code for the PS4 vs I think it was 7-9 months for the PS3, somewhere around there, so if they could get those FF games done in 2 years on the PS3 I think KH3 on PS4 shouldn't take as long. I don't know any details on coding or whatever so take that with a grain of salt, tha is basically all I know about it. So anyway that's some of the reasons I think it will only take 2 years to make, I think they are way further in development than people think. |
Didn't Nomura say that he would start working on kh3 after ff15 was near completion? Assuming that ff15 is then kh3 would only be starting development now. I believe it will run on the next gen luminous engine so the graphics will prob look nice in general. I think the figures you posted were for porting games to the ps4. It was from pc to ps4 I believe. I don't think thats the same as building a game from the ground up. Though, it still remains that the ps4 is alot easier to program for. This whole things depends on if they announce ff15 for 2014 release too, which I really hope they do. The gameplay mechanics prob are mostly figured out if they are using mechanics from the handheld prospect. With square, I'm never really sure when they release anything really. I had thought ff13 vs would have come out after 13, but instead we got -2, and lightning returns.
