Grats on the tarantula. I haven't encountered one yet but I did catch a scorpion awhile back. He wasn't that hard/didn't move that fast.
Scorpions seem to be a bit easier to catch in this game than tarantulas. The tarantulas do seem to scuttle off under rocks and stumps a bit quicker. The trick seems to be to get your net out asap, then they seem to slow down and be more watchful, yet less aggressive than in City folk. I already had my net out when i saw the tarantula, as i was just about to catch a beetle off a tree. The tarantula didn't run away, it just kind of walked towards me, making it a fairly easy catch : )
