Sony doesn't have nothing to do with Beyond and Xillia, though. That's the developers choosing which platform do they want to put their game on.

Dude....You know that Sony funded the development of Heavy Rain. Probably let Quantic use their movie house resources as well. They own the IP and they are funding Beyond as well. They heavily encourage games like this. Xillia was Sony getting theirs because Microsoft got their own tales game earlier. They've been experimenting with companies who make movie-like games since 1995. Ever heard of Naughty Dog?
