Why buy a console at all by that logic.

I don't understand what you are saying. You buy a console to play games in your living room. Do you not see the added value in also being able to play these games wherever you want? Valve do with Steam and Portal 2 on PS3, Sony do with Cross-Buy and Gaikai, MS do from their leaked document. Why doesn't anyone here?

Also, they only sell the consoles to sell the games. That's why they are sold at a loss. For Valve, selling all the games and taking a cut without having to make a loss on hardware is a pretty comfortable position.

I bolded the statement so you could understand.

Many multiplat games are going to be for PC, so if you are saying "why buy a Wii U version," That's as good as saying "why buy a PS4/XB1 version" when there's PC.  Because it implies the Wii U version will be the same or worse than the PS4/XB1 versions.  When there's going to be a multiplat game for all three next-gen consoles, you can bet the Wii U version will be different.  If it isn't, then the Wii U wouldn't be fulfilling its job as a different console.

Also, if you want to say "play games in your living room" then you don't understand that you could also play a PC in your living room.  The way you're making this argument is incomplete and makes little sense.  I also don't even see what your point is on your last paragraph, it has nothing to do with what I was saying.

Why are people complaining about the incomplete versions of Wii U games then? It is also used as a reason for their poor sales. People obviously do care about the quality of each individual version, so the Wii U version is competing with the PS4/X1 version and the PC version.

But they are mainly competing with other console version. A big selling point of consoles is ease of use, and if you want to say "you could also play a PC in your living room" then you don't understand that.

My last paragraph was asking you to look at your question from Nintendo's point of view. They should be thinking "why sell a console at all" and realising it is an opportunity to expand their ecosystem rather than shrink it by losing third parties.
